In short
You cannot make a company hire faster, but you can stop losing days on your side.
- Week 1: choose your target roles, fix your resume and profiles, list your companies.
- Weeks 2 and 3: apply to every good fit within a day or two of posting, on the company's career page, and contact one person per application.
- Week 4: answer recruiters the same day, prepare for each round, and keep applying until an offer is in writing.
What makes a job search fast
Applying early
Shortlists start forming in the first days after a role is posted.
Fit over volume
Close matches get replies; loose ones use up your week.
Applying where companies read
The company's career page feeds straight into its hiring system.
No gaps between steps
Same-day replies and quick scheduling can save weeks across a search.
Week 1: set up once
- Choose two or three target titlesOnes that fit your years and skills, in the words employers use: "FP&A Analyst", "Credit Analyst", "Data Analyst".
- Make one resume per titleThe target role and your strongest matching results at the top, with numbers.
- Update your Naukri and LinkedIn profilesHeadline, key skills, notice period, expected salary and preferred cities, all accurate. See the checklist.
- List 30 to 50 companies you would like to joinAnd find each one's careers page.
- Write your standard answers onceNotice period, current and expected salary, reason for change, a two-line pitch. Forms ask the same questions again and again.
Weeks 2 and 3: apply every day
- Every morning, check for new roles at your companies and on the job sites you use, and apply the same day to everything that fits.
- Apply on the company's career page when the role is there, even if you found it on a job board.
- After each application, contact one person: the recruiter, the hiring manager, or someone who can refer you. Two or three lines are enough.
- Keep a tracker: company, role, date, where you applied, who you contacted, next step. Follow up once after about a week.
- Prepare in parallel: practise the usual questions for your role and a two-minute introduction, so the first call is not your first rehearsal.
The daily loop, done for you
Jobaaj One checks 2,711 company career pages several times a day, scores each new opening against your profile, applies where the match is 60 or more, and keeps every application in a tracker with a screenshot. Your part becomes the follow-ups and the interviews.
Week 4: interviews and offers
- Reply to recruiters the same day and offer specific interview slots.
- Research each company before the call: what it sells, recent news, what the team does.
- Ask about the process and timeline at the end of each round, so you know when to follow up.
- Keep applying until you have an offer in writing. Stopping when interviews start is a common reason searches stall.
- Compare offers on the whole package: fixed and variable pay, joining date, location, role and growth.
If you are serving a notice period
Often the biggest delay in India
Start applying before you resign if you can. If you are already serving notice, say so and give your last working day; many recruiters prefer candidates who can join soon. If your company allows a buy-out, mention that you can shorten it.
Questions
How long does it take to get a job in India?
For most white-collar roles, expect weeks to a few months from first application to offer, longer if you have a 60 to 90 day notice period. The plan here shortens the part you control: finding, applying and following up.
Is it better to apply on Naukri or on company websites?
Both, but do not skip company career pages. Many employers post there first and read those applications in their own system.
How many jobs should I apply to a day?
Enough that every role that genuinely fits you gets an application within a day or two of being posted. For most people that is 5 to 20 well-matched roles a day, not 100 random ones.
